Career Development Center @ Logan

The Career Development Center (CDC) initiative began in January 2008 with the objective of assisting upcoming graduates and alumni in locating and obtaining professional employment and to provide a mechanism for connecting employers with graduating students or experienced Doctors of Chiropractic by identifying skill sets, interests and location preferences.

We are accomplishing these objectives for students and experienced Doctors of Chiropractic through:

  • Providing career planning resources to help determine career goals.
  • Assistance with making informed decisions about practice goals with information on location, practice size, technique preferences, patient profiling, etc.
  • Data gathering from students about their career goals.
  • Coordinate with Logan faculty on creating job plans.
  • Assistance with resume and curriculum vita development.
  • Assistance with interview skills.
  • Providing demographics for states and cities for potential practice locations.
  • Reviewing state licensing requirements for potential practice locations.
  • Publish “The Classifieds” twice monthly; a publication of possible job placements, practice opportunities and practices for sale.
  • Survey field doctors to determine the most desired characteristics for potential jobs.
  • Provide a Career Expo where potential employers can meet and interview students and alumni for possible job opportunities.
  • Facilitate meetings with prospective employers and Logan students and alumni.
  • Coordinate with the Preceptorship program to provide opportunities for senior students with possible employment placement.
  • Coordinate with community service and field events to prepare students for recruiting patients and talking to the public about chiropractic.
  • Assistance with bank contacts to answer financial questions.
  • Assistance with contract review.
