Peer Review

When doing research, use literature that is peer reviewed. You might also see it referred to as scholarly or refereed. Articles are reviewed by subject experts prior to publication.

If you have an article and want to know if it is peer reviewed or scholarly, check the publisher's About this Journal section to read about any peer review process.

If you need to locate peer reviewed articles, use a library resource such as PubMed or EBSCO Discovery Service (EDS). In EDS, select Scholarly (Peer Reviewed) Journals under the search box to limit your results to only scholarly articles. Articles in PubMed are considered peer reviewed.
