Tutorials: eBook Permalinks

How to use specific library resources such as databases, information literacy modules, eBooks, and archival materials.

eBook Permalinks

Logan eBooks come from various venders.

Most links must begin with https://logan.idm.oclc.org/login?url= in order to authenticate the user as part of Logan. Copy/paste from the browser url may not work for the other user, even if it looks like it is working on your end.

Locate the appropriate box for the vendor of your eBook and follow instructions.

EBSCO Permalinks

In EBSCO eBooks, you can link to an entire eBook or a chapter. Some eBooks allow for unlimited concurrent users and some have limited access, typically one to three users at a time. You can find this information under the book description fields.

1. Click on Permalink under Tools at the right side of the record.

2. The permalink will then display at the top of the record. Copy the entire link and paste into your resource.

Example permalink:

OverDrive Permalinks

The OverDrive platform allows for users to checkout eBooks or audiobooks through their Logan account. Most books are single user. You do not need to create a permalink for OverDrive, just copy and paste the url from the browser. Example:
