Journal articles that are part of the library's paid subscriptions need a permalink for an off-campus user to access the article.
Links need to begin with the library's proxy information https://logan.idm.oclc.org/login?url= and you can't just grab the url from the browser.
Example permalink:
Different resources require separate ways of creating the permalink. See the resource or publisher below for the journal article to find instructions. Or just contact us in the library, we are always happy to help create the permalink for you.
To grab a permalink for an article inside EBSCOhost, go to the full page for that resource by clicking on its title.
1. Click on Permalink under Tools on the right side of the record.
2. The permalink will then display at the top of the record. Then simply copy the entire link and paste it into your resource.
OVID is the platform for Lippincott, Williams, & Wilkins journals.
1. Open the article's main page.
2. Click on "Email Jumpstart" from the right side of the page.
3. Copy the url that appears in the box at the top of the page.
Some journal articles are on individual publisher sites. For these, use the url plus the library's proxy.
1. Go to the article's main page for which you want to create a permalink.
2. Copy the url in the browser.
Example: https://jamanetwork.com/journals/jama/fullarticle/2801059
3. Add Logan's proxy in front of the url.
Example: https://logan.idm.oclc.org/login?url=

PubMed is an abstract database. Using the permalink option included in PubMed will not allow the user to access Logan's full-text subscriptions. Our recommendation is to go to the full-text resource and construct a permalink from there. This could be done through a specific publisher (Elsevier/OVID) or through a database (EBSCOhost), look for the appropriate box on this page for instructions.
